Very few people know that Shakti Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty knew each other even before coming into films. Both of them have studied acting in the same institute of Pune and during this time something happened that a disco dancer beat Shakti Kapoor badly.
In the year 2023, Shakti Kapoor gave an interview to DD Urdu in which he revealed that Mithun was his senior in the Acting Institute of Pune. During this, Shakti had mentioned her first meeting with Mithun. He had said that when he met Mithun for the first time, he saw the actor wearing a dhoti with many holes. During this time Shakti had liquor in her hand and she offered it to Mithun.
This was how Shakti Kapoor’s first meeting with Mithun Chakraborty was.
Shakti Kapoor had said- ‘By the time we reached Pune, I had a beer in my hand and I was feeling like a star. We reached the hostel, Rakesh Roshan had come to drop me. I saw a boy standing at the gate, he was wearing dhoti and had a muscular body. There were so many holes in his dhoti that you couldn’t even count. He was dark. He saw Rakesh Roshan and touched his feet.
Shakti Kapoor made this mistake
Shakti further said- ‘I had beer in my hand and I asked him, ‘Would you like to have some beer?’ He refused and said that it was not allowed in the institute and then he introduced himself, he was Mithun Chakraborty. Rakesh and others went away and one held my hand and the other held my leg. He pulled me into a room, threw me on the floor and asked how dare you ask a senior if you would like to have a beer?
Mithun and seniors had cut Shakti Kapoor’s hair.
The actor said- ‘All these were my seniors and I am sitting there on the floor. After this Mithun told his friends about me and then they joked about my hair. He said that your locks are the darkness of the night, if you turn your head it will become the morning. Shakti told- ‘He took out the scissors and cut it in the morning. I felt bad and regretted what I did. I realized I was wrong.’
